Note: There are at least four different spelling variations for the Blackburn surname which are Blackburn (original), Blackbourn, Blackboune and Blackburne. Fred used at least two of these spelling variations.  An addition to this biography is that Fred developed problems with his left foot and digestive tract which made travel difficult in later years (Catherine Dixon)
